REVIEW : CHANEL SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL - Bronzing Makeup Base

It's been awhile since I've blogged due to the constant craziness at work recently. My love for makeup is still growing and I've recently jumped onto the bandwagon and bit my tongue while I clicked 'proceed to checkout' while browsing on Strawberrynet.com. Strawberrynet offers a variety of brands from cosmetics to skincare, some of which are not even available here in Malaysia but they great news is, they ship to Malaysia! Do check them out. Its definitely not my first purchase with them, shipping is quite fast, approximately 4-5 days, I purchased on Sunday and received my item on Thursday!

What have I bought you may ask. Well it's none other than the infamous makeup bronzing base by Chanel - Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel. Fancy.

I've recently been loving my bronzers. I'll be posting another review up on the latest Sweetheart Bronzer by Too Faced soon! *fingers crossed* And I've been wanting to get this for a LONNNGGG LONNGGG time. I've just never been braved enough to see past the price tag. Oh, it's hefty alright. But what made me buy it? Well, it was the 15% they offered me and a free gift. So the price was RM 209 (they increased the price at the time I typed this post to RM 216) and I also got a 1% loyalty discount (it was my second purchase), So in total, I saved RM 32 and only paid RM 176. So that was a steal!

Well, let's get on to the fun part, swatches!

I'm not sure if you're able to see but there is tiny tiny sparkles in the product but this definitely does not transfer onto your face when applied.

It actually does not lean too red or too orange. Its a milky brown shade. See it on my skin-tone below. I have really light skin-tone, the natural lighting might have washed me out a little but this bronzing base does help warm up my face a little. And it is not difficult to blend, as you can see below, it blends beautifully.
I used a synthetic brush to apply this.

APPLICATION : EASY
LASTING POWER : IT STAYED ON UNTIL ABOUT THE FIFTH / SIXTH HOUR THEN IT STARTS TO FADE WITHOUT SETTING IT.
PIGMENTATION : GREAT.
Overall Rating : B

REVIEW : COLOURPOP ULTRA MATTE LIPS IN CHILLY CHILI

I've recently been dragged into the whole trend of liquid lipsticks and let me tell you, I'm OBSESSED with it!

Never have I ever thought that I would be one of those girls who would rock a matte lip just because my lips are always dry. BUT NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream proved me wrong and now, Colourpop.

For those of you who have not heard about Colourpop, it's not an ice cream nor a colouring store. It is an online only, affordable beauty brand located in the United States (US). Read more about Colourpop here

I'm not going to ramble on about the brand but let me tell you, it is awesome so far.

Now, the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips comes in a variety of colours but most are in the family of pinks. They have a total of 44 individual shades priced at $6 a piece and 2 just recently released Holiday 2015 box sets priced at $20 per box set (this contains 5 colours each).

The finishing of these are AMAZING! It is of course a liquid lipstick that slowly turns matte upon application. I know its a little far-fetched for now as I only have ONE product,  but I'm am loving this and you'll see why below. (P.S. : I do not photoshop my pictures)

I wore this Chilly Chilli throughout the day. It's a plummy brown shade which may look mauvey brown in the picture above but in real life it's a dark plum brown shade. Beware as what you see in the tube may come out darker because it mattes down from a liquid and common sense, it'll only get darker.

I have to say that I experienced some transfers on my cup when I drink water, when I kissed my boyfriend it somewhat transferred on his cheek a little, etc.

BUT it really stains your lips and even with the transfers, I still had a full lip of colour EXCEPT a little wore off on the inner part of my lips where it tends to get a little moist.

APPLICATION : EASY AND A LOT OF CONTROL
LASTING POWER : TRANSFERABLE BUT IT STAYS ON
PIGMENTATION : IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!
BLEEDING : NONE EXPERIENCE

Overall Rating : A+

UPDATE : GM DIET DAY 5, 6 & 7

For all those who are dying to find out whether or not I've successfully completed the diet plan, I'm happy to announce that I have! I've made it through (safe and sound). Let me start of with day 5, followed by day 6 and 7.

DAY 5 : BEEF AND TOMATO (2 TOMATOES TO BE EXACT)
Day 5 was exciting because I haven't taken any form of meat for the last 4 days so being able to eat meat again, got me a little excited.

So day 5 was a Saturday. Let me start of by saying my colleague and I planned to start the 7 days diet plan on a Tuesday as we thought it would be easier if we needed to go out on weekends for breakfast/lunch/dinner dates as on day 5 (Saturday) we could have meat. So it's best to start on a Tuesday. I did not have breakfast as I woke up late, so when I woke up, it was almost lunch time. I had sauteed chicken breast meat using olive oil (you can replace beef with chicken or fish) with onions (you can also replace tomato with any other vegetable as long as it's not potato/corn/carrots) and a little fresh chilli.

Then for dinner I had two steam white pomfret fish with lemon, chilli, coriander and a little salt.

No fruits are allowed on this day.

DAY 6 : BEEF AND TOMATO (2 TOMATOES TO BE EXACT)\
Same as day 5, I had only lunch and dinner. For lunch, I had the same thing as day 5 (lunch) except I had two tomatoes and without the chilli.

For dinner I had sauteed fish cutlet with onions.

OVERALL (DAY 5 & 6)
I noticed that even by just eating meat and nothing else, it was super filling and I did not feel hungry throughout the day except I did have craving for fruits.

DAY 7 : FRUITS, VEGETABLES AND RICE
According to the website we're able to consume rice on the final day. For breakfast, I had an apple.

For lunch, I had a small serving of bastmathi rice (which was apparently better than brown rice according to the website) paired with a small sauteed broccoli with garlic.

Then for dinner I had boiled broccoli with another small serving of bastmathi rice, followed by some papaya and an apple for dessert.

Again, throughout the day I did not feel hungry and I was instead full.

I feel that the diet kinda shrunk my tummy and appetite altogether making it very difficult for me to consume the amount that I previously needed.

RESULTS
So I guess everyone's dying to know if the diet has actually worked or was it just another flop diet?

Day 7 has ended and before day 7 actually ended, I actually weighed myself before dinner and I'm happy to announce:

I LOST 4 KG!

The diet was a success, I didn't lose 8 kg as claimed by the plan but 4 kg is a very big achievement to me and is more than my expectation. I'm so happy that I've lost that much of weight within 7 days.

UPDATE : GM DIET - DAY 2, 3 & 4

Dear readers, so for the past 2 days, I've successfully endured day 2 and 3 of the GM diet plan. Below are my summaries for day 2 and 3 respectively.

DAY 2 - VEGETABLES DAY
Now let me start off by saying this day was tough. Even tougher than I thought it would be. I actually thought that I was going to enjoy some savory food for a change but i really missed the fruit day instead.

I started the day with one boiled potato (we were supposed to pat the potato with a  pat of butter - which is apparently a MUST to balance the carb that's within the potato and is considered a 'good fat') then I had some boiled brocolli, cauliflower and iceberg lettuce for lunch as well as two servings of the GM diet's 'Wonder Soup' (one for lunch and one for dinner).

By noon, I was craving for something to snack on and wasn't too interested in snacking on more vegetable because it was bland despite seasoning with just pepper and salt but I did however had two medium sized tomatoes and 5 cherry tomatoes.

Overall, I did not enjoy day two too much, because at the end of the day, I was feeling a little weak compared to day 1 where I didn't feel too bad.

DAY 3 - FRUIT AND VEGETABLE DAY
Day 3 was so must easier for me. I was craving so much for fruits on day 2 so I started my breakfast with an apple. It was so good! After all that bland vegetables (except the soup), I needed some natural sweetness.

So for lunch I had a fruit and vegetable salad with some vinaigrette and I had 2 pieces of Jack-fruit followed by an apple for tea-time snack.

For dinner, I had a serving of broccoli and a serving of the GM diet's 'Wonder Soup'

All in all, day 3 was so much better than day 2.

DAY 4 - BANANAS AND MILK (I HAD FAT FREE YOGURT INSTEAD)
Day 4 wasn't too bad, and actually I surprised myself. Day 4, we're supposed to have 4 large bananas throughout the day and skim milk or yogurt is fine.

I started breakfast with two bananas (small sized) and one fat free yogurt.

For lunch I had soup, followed by a snack of banana and half a cup of fat free yogurt. Then for dinner I only had one banana.

I was surprised because despite not eating much, I did not feel hungry for the entire day.

LIVE UPDATE : GM DIET - DAY 1

I've recently been influence by my colleague to lead a healthier lifestyle by regularly exercising, it may not be every day but maybe 3-4 days a week. My colleague decided to run around the area where we're working at, and it is a great idea to do so after work. We'd spend like half and hour to an hour exercising before we leave for home. So yes, I'm currently on a journey to improve my lifestyle by eating better and exercising more.

Recently, I've read about this diet plan called GM Diet and it definitely intrigued me to learn more about it. The more I read about it, the more I was inclined to try it out and here I am on day 1 of the 7 days GM diet plan.

Read more about the GM diet HERE.

DAY 1 - FRUITS DAY
So day 1 is over AND I'm glad to say, I've made it! It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Overall, I had a total of 5-6 fruit servings today and 5 glasses of water. Each fruit serving, I had a few honey dews, watermelons and I had two whole apple for today.

In the evening, my colleague and I brisk walked and did not jog as we did not want to over exert our muscles due to the sudden change in food intake. But we did walk a total of 3km for today which is good considering that we just had fruits for the entire day.

I was impressed that I was able to sustain and endure the entire day without feeling nauseous or faint.

With this I'm more determined to complete the 7 days.

BRING ON DAY 2!

*STAY TUNED*
